The BRAT will essentially translate the input and output signals going to and from the ECU so you can actually tune in real time and without ECU resistance. RIPP’s team of electronics engineers have designed a small digital circuit that monitors the voltage the ECU normally sends into the complex factory sensory system (MAS, BAR, MAP, TPS, and O2). It then monitors the signal the sensory sends back and adjusts the digital signal accordingly so as not to trip a false run condition from the ECU. The ECU interprets the newly-acquired data and tunes accordingly and in sink with the data acquired. Since the ECU sees parameters that are safe, it will not interfere with the tuning and not attempt to “reverse" back to stock by either (i) adding or removing fuel, (ii) advancing or retarding timing, (iii) adjusting the IAAC valve, or (iv) referencing all four O2 sensors and proceding from that point. The BRAT will eliminate a condition that has plagued us with a host of run and drive conditions.
